Not Since 2018
The end of February saw a milestone in my writing not seen in nearly five years. It’s a milestone I’d like to mark more often, but this is writing. It’s handcraft, not manufacturing.
On August 25, 2018 I sent the manuscript of The Confessions of Adam, my debut novel, to Bold Vision Books, the publisher who would contract later that year, and produce the novel late the following year.
And now again, on February 26, 2023, I sent the manuscript, Waterborne: Chronicle of the Clan of Noah, to Bold Vision Books, who contracted my second novel last May, with plans to produce it this summer.
And, with this milestone, I wait.
I wait while my agent and the team at Bold read this second manuscript. I wait, anticipating the edits they will request. And I plan for the book launch that will follow.
But there’s something else I do. It’s what I’ve learned must, most assuredly, be done when meeting such milestones. It’s the only action I know to take, and an action only I can take.
I leap headlong into the next project. I write.
